TUSCALOOSA | Two Olympic medalists with ties to Tuscaloosa will appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” today.
The show will honor more than 175 Olympic medalists as it launches its 23rd season at 4 p.m. CST.
Tuscaloosa heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder, a bronze medalist at the Summer Games in Beijing, and former University of Alabama softball player Kelly Kretschman, who won a silver medal in Beijing to go with the gold medal she won four years earlier in Athens, Greece, are among the Olympians taking part in the show’s “Welcome Home Team USA” celebration.
The show was filmed at the Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago’s Millennium Park.
