TUSCALOOSA | Florida State made a lot of mistakes and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks capitalized to beat the Seminoles 10-1 and advanced to Saturday's NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional championship round.

Jax State scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. FSU made three errors and threw three wild pitches, with the Gamecocks getting four hits. Kayla Collins, who transferred from FSU, hit a two-RBI single to key the outburst.

Pinch hitter Alana Hicks added the icing with a two-run, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to invoke the mercy rule.

Ashley Eliasson (16-5) pitched her way out of two bases-loaded jams for the win. She allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts in five innings.

Melissa May (2-3) took the loss for FSU, giving up five runs (two earned) on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Jax State (40-15), the third seed in the regional, will play No. 3 Alabama on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised by ESPN2.
