ATHENS, Ga. | The University of Alabama’s baseball game against the Georgia Bulldogs was rained out Thursday night.

The game will be played today as part of a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at Georgia’s Foley Field.

Georgia (19-7-1 in Southeastern Conference play, 34-17-1 overall) has already clinched the SEC regular-season title and the top seed in next week’s SEC Tournament in Hoover. Alabama (14-13 SEC, 30-23 overall) is fighting to clinch a tournament spot. Tennessee’s win over South Carolina on Thursday night left the Tide needing one win to qualify for the tournament.

Georgia is expected to start right-hander Travis Holder (7-3, 3.64 ERA) and right-hander Stephen Dedson (5-2, 3.75) in today’s doubleheader. Left-hander Miers Quigley (4-4, 4.98) will start the first game for Alabama. The Tide’s starter for the second game was undetermined Thursday night, although Tide coach Jim Wells indicated that right-hander Austin Hyatt (3-4, 4.99 ERA) was the likeliest starter.
