TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama softball team is ranked No. 3 in the final USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll.
The Crimson Tide (51-6), which is hosting the Tuscaloosa Regional starting Thursday at the Alabama softball complex, is ranked No. 4 in the sport's other major poll, the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25.
Florida was ranked No. 1 in both polls. The Gators were a unanimous selection in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, garnering all 20 first-place votes. Second-ranked Arizona State received one first-place vote in the ESPN.com/NFCA poll, with Florida topping the other 27 ballots.
UCLA was ranked third in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25, beating out Alabama by a narrow margin.
The Crimson Tide will play Tennessee-Chattanooga at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Alabama Softball Complex to open play in the NCAA Tournament.
