Former Bama player headed to Miami Dade

TUSCALOOSA | Former University of Alabama point guard Rico Pickett plans to transfer to Miami Dade (Fla.) Community College.

Pickett told The Decatur Daily Friday that he and the Miami Dade coach hit it off instantly and he feels it’s a perfect fit.

The Decatur High School product was granted a scholarship release from Alabama coach Mark Gottfried after his freshman season.

Pickett said he plans to sign with another Division I school after next season.
