Saban teams with Stabler for Chick-fil-A event

GREENSBORO, Ga. | University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has selected former Crimson Tide and Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler as his celebrity alumni partner for the Chick-fiil-A Bowl Alma Mater golf tournament, which will provide $375,000 in scholarship donations to participating universities.

Auburn’s Tommy Tuberville will play with Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan. South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier will play with Sterling Sharpe.

Saban teamed with former UA linebacker Cornelius Bennett last year.

The golf event will take place at Reynolds Plantation on April 29. A total of 14 teams are scheduled to play, all featuring head coaches and celebrity alumnus.

The celebrity round will be aired on tape delay by CBS from 1-3 p.m. CT on Christmas Day.
