Victor Ellis funeral arrangements

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. | Funeral arrangements have been made for late

University of Alabama football player Victor Ellis for this weekend.

Visitation will be held Friday at John P. Franklin Funeral Home at 1101Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT. The funeral for Ellis, who died at age 28 Tuesday night from a rare form of cancer, will be held at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church at 316 Bragg Avenue in Lookout Mountain, Tenn.,at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. The burial will follow at Forrest Hill Cemetary at the foot of Lookout Mountain.

Cards and flowers can be sent to the funeral home.

Ellis was elected permanent team captain at UA following the 2001 season.

He played in 40 career games, making 145 tackles. He was also named Academic All-Southeastern Conference following his junior season at UA.
