UA men's golf in second place at Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. | The No. 1 University of Alabama golf team is in second place after the opening round at the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational. The 18-team tournament continues through Sunday at Forest Heights Country Club.

Tennessee leads at 6-under 282. Alabama is second at 3-under 285.

Tied at third are South Carolina and UAB at 2-under 286. fifth is LSU (287), followed by Florida (290), Kentucky (294), Augusta State (295), Michigan State (295), Auburn (296), N.C. State (296), Notre Dame (297), North Carolina (298), Georgia Southern (301), North Florida (303), New Mexico (304), Minnesota (305) and Boston College (306).

Matthew Swan is tied at 13th at 1-under 71. Mark Harrell is tied at 57th at 4-over 76. Matt Hughes is tied for 83rd at 7-over 79. Gator Todd is competing in the tournament as an individual and is tied for seventh at 2-under 70.
