TUSCALOOSA | University of Alabama football player Julian Rashad Johnson was arrested early Saturday morning on a disorderly conduct charge.
According to a Tuscaloosa Police Department news release, Johnson, 22, a defensive back and captain for the Crimson Tide, allegedly pushed a security guard at The Legacy bar on The Strip while the guard was escorting a person outside at 2:55 a.m. Police allege Johnson pushed the guard and fell out of the front door and on the ground.
Police said officers that were patrolling the area observed the disturbance and took Johnson into custody after a brief struggle.
Johnson wasn’t injured in the struggle, but an officer received a minor abrasion to his knee.
Police said during the disturbance, a large crowd gathered outside the bar and additional officers had to be called to the scene for crowd control.
Johnson was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Metro Jail where his bond was set at $500.
