Seven UA players Preseason All-SEC

TUSCALOOSA | The top-ranked University of Alabama softball team placed seven players on the Preseason All-Southeastern Conference team released Wednesday by the league office, including four first-team players.

Outfielder Brittany Rogers joined Florida outfielder Kim Waleszonia as the only two unanimous selections on the team, which was selected by league coaches.

Rogers was joined on the first team by first baseman Charlotte Morgan, second baseman Lauren Parker and designated player/utility fielder Jordan Praytor. Praytor is a senior, while Rogers and Parker are juniors and Morgan is a sophomore.

On the second team, senior pitcher Chrissy Owens was joined by senior first baseman/outfielder Dani Woods and junior third baseman Kelley Montalvo.

Alabama (10-0) plays Friday through Sunday in the Florida International Fun in the Sun tournament in Miami. Alabama and host Florida International are joined by Illinois and UConn in the tournament field.
