TUSCALOOSA | Although weather conditions outside Coleman Coliseum on Saturday afternoon might resemble Lambeau Field, University of Alabama officials are confident the UA-Mississippi State men's basketball game will not be postponed.

"At this point, we have no weather-related issues. Both the officials and Mississippi State will be in tonight, as per SEC regulations," UA spokesman Doug Walker said. "We have no imminent concern about a weather delay or cancellation right now."

The National Weather Service has a wide swath of Central Alabama under a winter storm watch for early Saturday, with predictions of snow expected after midnight Friday and lasting to around the 2 p.m. tipoff between the Tide and Bulldogs. The area expected to see the most precipitation will be between I-20/59 and U.S. 80.

The storm is not expected to produce much ice, but could accumulate between 2 to 4 inches of snow.
