UA women host East Tennessee State

TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama women’s basketball team (6-7) will host a non-conference contest against East Tennessee State tonight at Coleman Coliseum. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
The Crimson Tide closed out 2007 with three straight victories, while the Lady Bucs (3-7) fell to the Georgetown Hoyas 75-52 in their last outing.
The Lady Bucs are led by sophomore Siarre Evans, who averages 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds. Senior Michele DeVault is averaging 14.0 points per contest.
Leading Alabama in the win streak is freshman forward Tierney Jenkins, who was named the SEC Freshman of the Week. She averaged 21.3 points and 12.3 rebounds last week. She shot 48 percent and had two double-doubles.
Alabama will host Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, with tip off at 2 p.m.
The Tide will open SEC play next week against South Carolina. The game is set for 6 p.m. on Jan. 10.
