Alabama 38, ULM 13
Far more important than the outcome (apparently) is the question of whether Alabama will get a backup quarterback into the game or not. The answer (which will not be available on pay-per-view) is yes. Look for Greg McElroy to play in this one, and for John Parker Wilson and the rest of the Crimson Tide to take care of things before Auburn.
Christopher Walsh
Alabama 35, ULM 10
Alabama needs a win and it’s the last home game for the seniors, which is bad news for the Warhawks. Despite the cool nickname, Louisiana-Monroe is 2-27-1 all-time against SEC teams, with the lone victories against Kentucky in 1994 and Mississippi State in 1995. Alabama won last year’s meeting 41-7.
David Wasson
Alabama 99, ULM minus-2
Time to dust off this tried-and-true score prediction for the kind of game I foresee — a complete domination by one team that desperately needs something to go right against a team that can’t do much to stop that from happening. John Parker Wilson will look like Tom Brady all day long, and Alabama will send its seniors out on a high note at home.
Andrew Carroll
Alabama 38, ULM 14
Now is the time for Alabama to revive its slumping offense and execute with better precision. Crank up the running game, score touchdowns in the red zone and eliminate turnovers. ULM isn’t as big a challenge as LSU or Mississippi State, but the Tide needs to put together the kind of performance that it help rebuild confidence for the showdown with Auburn.
Michael Southern
Alabama 38, ULM 13
I think Alabama will be able to ease its late-season slump that includes a 1-7 record in the month of November since 2005. The Warhawks should provide a rebound for the Mississippi State loss and a tune-up for next week’s Iron Bowl showdown. Greg McElroy might even get a chance to throw a few passes instead of taking a knee.
Edwin Stanton
Alabama 41, ULM 10
Yes, the Tide will win, let’s go ahead and get that out of the way. Now, what matters most is how the Tide plays. Auburn is next week and Bama needs all the improvement it can stand. It seems the Tigers have so many wins against Alabama lately they’re running out of fingers. Bama needs to fix its problems today or else the Iron Bowl will be a disaster.
Harold Stout
Alabama 41, ULM 10
My predictions have been about as consistent as Alabama’s play, but I’m betting we both get it right this week. (Wouldn’t you love to have been a fly on the wall in the dressing room last week?) ULM is coming in to play a team that’s tired of hearing about its downfalls. The Tide has something to prove. Nothing against ULM, but this is mismatch.
