CBS will wait to pick Sept. 22 telecast

TUSCALOOSA | CBS officials announced on Monday they would take a six-day exemption permitted by the network’s contract with the Southeastern Conference before choosing which SEC game to telecast on Sept. 22.

CBS will choose between the Alabama-Georgia game and the LSU-South Carolina game, which will both be played on that day. The CBS broadcast will begin at 2:30 p.m. CDT.

The game that is not chosen by CBS will be shown on ESPN beginning at 6:45 p.m.

CBS is expected to announce its decision on Sunday after reviewing SEC results from the upcoming weekend of action.

Two other Southeastern Conference games will be televised on September 22. The Lincoln Financial Services network will show Florida at Ole Miss beginning at 11:37 a.m. on that date. ESPN2 will show Kentucky at Arkansas beginning at 5 p.m.

This Saturday’s Alabama-Arkansas game from Bryant-Denny Stadium will be televised at 5:45 p.m. on ESPN.
